Durante muchos años, el único objetivo en la vida del malvado Megamind (con la voz original de Will Ferrell) ha sido conquistar Metro City. Y no ha podido hacerlo hasta que ha conseguido matar a su eterno rival, el repelente superhéroe Metro Man (Brad Pitt). Pero ahora Megamind se ha quedado sin objetivos. El poder le aburre más de lo que imaginó. Así que decide crear otro superhéroe con el que luchar: Titán (Jonah Hill). Y también esto le sale mal, porque Titán descubrirá que le motiva más hacer el mal que hacer bien y se convertirá en una seria amenaza mundial.
