El mundo está envuelto en las llamas de la guerrax y nadie tiene el poder para detener la inevitable destrucción... hasta ahora.
Durante casi un siglox la Nación del Fuego ha llevado a cabo su mortífera campaña para dominar en todo el mundo a sus habitantesx las tribus del Airex el Agua y la Tierra. Sólo le ofrecen una alternativa a las tribus que sucumben ante su poder: la rendición totalx o la completa aniquilación.
Mientras los aldeanos intentan resistir en vanox siguen a los pocos elegidos que pueden controlar el elemento de su nación y hacer que obedezca sus órdenes. Sin embargox los guerreros del Fuegox apoyados por enormes ejércitos y armas de destrucción masivax ya han eliminado a todos los maestros del Aire del planetax y ahora centran su atención sobre la Nación del Aguax acuartelada en su fortaleza norteña.
Un díax la joven maestra del agua Katara (Nicola Peltz) está fuera practicando sus técnicas con su hermano Sokka (Jackson Rathbone) cuando se encuentran con un joven llamado Aang (Noah Ringer). Perox al hacerse patentes los poderes de Aang como maestro del Airex Katara y Sokka se dan cuenta de que han encontrado algo más que al último maestro del Aire. Al ser el Airbender de las profecías (el único que puede controlar a los cuatro elementos)x el joven maestro del Aire es la única arma que puede repeler el ataque de la Nación del Fuego y restaurar finalmente el equilibrio del mundo desgarrado por la guerra. Perox ¿podrá él llegar a dominar sus técnicas de control y convertirse en el héroe que necesita ser antes de que sea demasiado tarde?
