Sinopsis:
La impresionante película de los directores franceses Jacques Perrin y Jacques Cluzaud comienza en el espacio. Desde él, se sumerge en las profundidades marinas y nos presenta un universo vibrante, multiforme, apacible, cruel, necesario y frágil.
El medio más abundante del planeta desvela a través de la cámara sus secretos y belleza cotidianos: flotas de medusas, saltos de ballenas,arrecifes, batallas de crustáceos o caricias acuáticas.
Gracias a unas innovadoras técnicas de filmación, el espectador nunca se siente un intruso entre ellos, los contempla con la camaradería de ser una criatura marina más. Por eso impresiona aún más el pernicioso efecto de la actividad humana sobre sus ecosistemas que se muestra a continuación. Algunas de las imágenes, como las que evidencian la contaminación procedente de ríos y zonas urbanas han sido tomadas por los satélites de la Agencia Espacial Europea.
Con su anterior obra, Nómadas del viento, Perrin y Cluzaud consiguieron una nominación al Óscar en 2003. Ahora, con un presupuesto de 50 millones de euros, han rodado el documental más caro de la Historia. En interés de todos, ya que la hermosura de Océanos pretende ser un alegato a favor del conocimiento y la conservación de la naturaleza.
