Cansado e irritado, Zakes Abbott conduce por la autopista junto a su novia Beth que duerme a su lado. Un camión blanco está a punto de chocar contra ellos y Zakes lo persigue con rabia para ver asombrado como su puerta trasera se abre y aparece una mujer aterrorizada y ensangrentada. Antes de que pueda dar un segundo vistazo, la puerta se cierra y el chico se queda preguntándose si lo que vio es real o imaginación suya. Llama a la policía y Beth se enfada con él por no haber hecho más. Después de parar en una gasolinera, Beth desaparece y Zakes comprende que el conductor del camión blanco se la ha llevado también. Empezará así un juego del gato y el ratón por la autopista desierta.
